Daughter of

I created this painting starting from previously made prints, then cut out and glued on canvas.

The portraits of the women in the halfway house become balloons that make one of their little girls, Gift, fly.
At first glance it seems like a cheerful image, but the serious faces in black and white, give a dramatic tone to the work.

The title alludes to an insult used a lot in Italy and that in this case acquires a literal meaning, towards the children in the community who risk being stigmatized because of their mothers' past.
