Family

This painting is part of the triptych Invisibili, which is the first work on canvas made with the girls, while previously we painted on paper.

I chose a jute canvas, with a light preparation to let the raw, rough material shine through.
From this moment I began to appreciate the canvas without a frame, to obtain an unfinished, imperfect effect, which dialogues with a pictorial process that also develops through stains and inaccuracies.

This is a moment of daily life in community: the girls are sitting on a sofa and talking to each other, switching from broken English to Nigerian.
